the most luxurıous soap ıs born of sımplıcty!
While any oil can be used in producing soap, conscientious buyers will know the quality of the soap relies on the quality of the source. Even triglycerides from cooking oil may be used in soap, but the resulting product will indeed be poor. Our producer, Zest Ayvalik, uses first-harvest and cold-pressed olive oil whose quality is high enough to dress a dinner salad.
Once the oil is extracted, one of two processes (either hot or cold) are used to make soap. The hot process consists of boiling all the raw materials, oils and soaping agent, and pouring them into molds while the cold process involves extracting oils from the fruits and herbs by applying pressure, making an alloy of the soap and pouring it into molds.
Soaps produced through heat will lose their moisture within a few days as the chain structure of beneficial molecules, namely triglycerides, break down in the boiling process while cold-processed soaps retain their level of moisture for more than a year since the healthy molecules are preserved, making them an ideal moisturizer.
Be suspicious of strongly scented soaps. Authentic oils extracted from herbs like lavender and laurel give a subtle, natural fragrance unlike the artificial ingredients added in manufacturing which may overwhelm the senses and irritate the skin.
